20 Reasons I'm Grateful to Be a Mom

I turn 35 today. It’s a milestone birthday, and I have mixed feelings about it. For the first time in my life, I feel like I’m getting older. I was sharing my angst about this birthday with a friend earlier this week, and she reminded me of all the reasons that I have to celebrate where I am in life right now, instead of fretting that I’m one step closer to 40. Without a doubt, the thing that I have to be most thankful for is Mason. Motherhood is the greatest thing I’ve ever done, and I feel so fortunate to be a mom–and more specifically, Mason’s mommy–for so many reasons.

Overwhelming love

Little boy hugs and kisses

Hearing “mama” (never gets old!)

Infectious laughter

Gummy (and then toothy) grins

Cuddle time on the couch

Coffee and playtime at 6 a.m.

Swinging in the park

Art time with puppy-shaped markers

Play dates with other cool moms

Shopping for little boy threads

Family date nights

Bathtime with squeaky toys

Road trips

First words

Finger painting

Constant surprises

Tiny toes and fingers

Wispy blonde curls

Bad behavior (that’s just so cute)
